Is your child struggling at school?

Does your child or adolescent struggle in school? Are they having difficulty keeping up with their homework? Perhaps, they have a difficult time staying focused or paying attention. Or maybe your child is finding it difficult to read. You may have tried hiring tutors or speaking with their teachers, but it seems like nothing is helping.

At home, your child’s difficulty with school may be starting to impact your family life. Maybe it becomes a whole production to help your child finish their homework. Or maybe your child’s self-esteem is taking a hit by their academic struggles.

It can be difficult to watch your child struggle when you know they are intelligent and capable of so much. But it is important that you don’t blame yourself. Many children struggle in the same manner your child is struggling- whether it is due to a learning disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or something else entirely.

Fortunately, Caring Cove offers comprehensive psychoeducational and social-emotional assessments for children ages 6-18 to help families determine a child’s intellectual and academic capabilities and answer questions related to school performance and psychological well-being.  We provide recommendations to help your child succeed in school and at home.

How does it work?

Even though things are stressful now, there are things we can recommend to improve your child’s functioning. At the beginning of our work together, we take the time to get to know your child and understand their unique situation.  Assessments are comprehensive and include the integration of data from a number of different sources (e.g., assessments of intellectual and academic functioning, rating scales from educators and caregivers, and self-report measures).  Our goal is to provide answers and specific personalized recommendations to increase success.

At Caring Cove, we specialize in evaluating psychoeducational and social-emotional difficulties across childhood, and we have seen the benefits of these services regardless of how long or how severely a child has struggled. Our team works with patience, compassion, and empathy to form a connection and build trust with your family.

Do you also evaluate for giftedness?
