Yes! Although many of our interventions target challenges in young children, we treat individuals of all ages, including young adults.
The first step at our practice to schedule a 15-minute phone screening call, free of charge, so we can answer any questions, ensure we are a good fit for your needs, and add you into our system.
When an opening becomes available that works with your schedule, we conduct a 3-session intake assessment with all new clients. During the first session parents or caregivers will meet directly with the clinician (if applicable). The next session is a child observation or intake session, and then during the third session, your clinician will provide diagnostic impressions and collaboratively discuss treatment recommendations with you. Once the intake process is complete, you can continue with therapy at the same weekly time.
Each intake session is billed separately at the clinician’s hourly rate.
We try our best to schedule new clients as soon as possible. We understand the importance of receiving services as quickly as possible. If we have a waiting list, we offer clients the option of being on our waiting list and/or receiving a list of potential referrals.
In order to ensure that our groups are the best fit for your needs, you can choose to engage in one of these intake options:
(1) a 30-minute caregiver-only screener session with the facilitating clinician during which fit is assessed and a discussion of goals for group is held.
(2) a 60-minute parent-only intake assessment (billed at the clinician’s hourly rate) during which a formal caregiver assessment interview is conducted. The benefit of this option is that you may apply it to a future 3-session standard intake assessment.
(3) a standard 3-session intake assessment with you and your child. During the first session, caregivers meet directly with the clinician for 60 minutes; the next session is a child intake session; then, during the third session, the clinician provides diagnostic impressions and collaboratively discusses treatment recommendations with you. Each session is billed separately at the intake clinician’s hourly rate. Please note that if a standard 3-session intake evaluation is not conducted, we are unable to provide you with a diagnosis. Having a diagnosis often makes receiving reimbursement from your insurance company easier.
Children with selective mutism (SM) symptoms are encouraged to complete a standard 3-session intake assessment with our team (option 3). This ensures we gather accurate baseline data to inform the best care recommendations. Regardless of which intake option you choose, lead-in sessions will be required prior to starting with a group. This requirement is based on PCIT-SM guidelines and ensures that your child will be successful in joining a group of novel individuals. Each lead-in session is billed separately at the intake clinician’s hourly session rate.
Please note that if a standard intake evaluation is not conducted, we are unable to provide you with a diagnosis. Having a diagnosis often makes receiving reimbursement from your insurance company easier.
Clients can view invoices, documentation, and submit payment online with a credit card through a private, secure patient portal. We also accept cash and checks.
